1/19/2023 0 Comments Lego the hobbit sets![]() ![]() ![]() I am not a fan of minifigs who aren't wearing a hairpiece, hat, or helmet. At least with the Mordor orcs, and Hobbit movie goblins when you exchange the hair/head piece of these two figs, you will get new and very distinct looking minifigs. ![]() They could have given the face with that piercing between its eyebrows some silver of copper colouring. The two faces on the minifighead of the Moria Orc are also not very distinct. Kind of disappointed that we at this moment still only have one generic Mordor Orc, and only one type of Moria orc, admittedly with a double face, which like the Uruk-hai unfortunately without its hairpiece is useless. Plus one for Gondor, and one or a couple with a bunch of different looking LOTR Orcs. A goblin army set, and a dwarf army set for instance. I also hope TLG will produce some other Hobbit/LOTR army sets. Of course I hope the build itself, whatever structure the set may contain is nice, or otherwise has plenty of good and desirable parts, which can be used in some other fashion or elsewhere. It is a nice minifig, still I hope they will have improved and updated it nonetheless. E.g.: a Tauriel without freckles, and a brighter green colored body, and pair of legs, and a prints less dull and dark coloured. I also hope that Tauriel and Legolas minifigs, which I expect to be in this set, are new and different from the #79001 preview set 'Escapre from Mirkwood Spiders'. I hope they all come with new different individual faces, and new body and leg prints, so that if you get two of the same set you can exchange parts and easily create a set of different yet proper looking elfs. Does anyone have any guess what these other sets may look like, and might contain? OK we've all already seen one picture of Lake Town Chase. I am really curious what all these new sets will look like. So somewhere in December TLG will release four new Hobbit sets: (sounds kind of nuts reading back what I just wrote, but I really like this LOTR Lego stuff). With the LOTR Lego has, for me personally, for the first time introduced a licensed theme I really want to collect pretty much all sets from. So I, for my part, hope that they have an endless contract with Wingnut Films or WB or what ever the company it is TLG closed the deal with for this license. I wouldn't be surprised if there are even more LOTR fans solely based on Tolkien's books, and the three movies made thus far by Peter Jackson will only have enlarged that number of fans last decade, without that much marketing in comparison to Lucas films, games etc. The only explanation I have is it's pop-culture status and following it still enjoys (ok Lucas played a big part in that with fantastic marketing continuously milking that fat cow of his, I do the same if I was him). I hope LOTR will be around for a very long time!Ĭould be I am mistaken but how is Star Wars still relevant given the fact that the first trilogy hit the cinema's from 1977 till 1983, and those prequels were shown in the movie theatre also by now over a decade ago. There is so much ground to cover turning middle earth into Lego sets, LOTR could (and should) last for the next decade as a Lego theme.ĭidn't lego make about five sets of that (same) Hogwarts Castle for their Harry Potter theme?! And how many different Millenium Falcons did Lego make or AT-AT's? The Golden hall in Edoras would (or could) be nice for a a set by in the other thread which essentially covers the same topic as here, I am also hoping that many more characters will be introduced such as:Įowyn (with legs not a roof part for a dress or else to have both legs and a printed dress included) will be welcomed by me very much.ī/discussion/6989/hobbit-sets-posterĪs mentioned e.g. Well I most certainly would very much like to see LOTR lego to stay around for a long long time (like StarWars, exept I don't collect the SW theme, well maybe except for that Rancor monster as I can blend that nicely in with all the medieval/fantasy/LOTR lego I collect) so a second, a third, and a fourth wave etc. ![]()
